THE SHOW MUST GO ON
After a beautiful, sunny, and warm December, it was time for a normal Wyoming winter. Sub zero temperatures, icy wind and several inches of snow didn’t cancel the Cheyenne Bridal Expo, nor did it stop many of the vendors and brides-to-be. The show must go on! Despite the storm, everyone gathered for a cozy afternoon in the Grand Ballroom at Little America filled with excitement and beautiful wedding gowns. The drive on I-80 headed east definitely added to the excitement of the day. The snow made for a beautiful backdrop.
LEARNING ON THE JOB
This year was Demi’s first bridal expo, and it was a great opportunity for her to talk to newly engaged couples and talk about what makes Ludwig Photography unique. Ludwig is Wyoming’s oldest downtown business, and America’s oldest ongoing photography business. We create real photographs, not just digital files. Demi loved showing off Chrissy and David Lee’s wedding albums, and all the hard work we both put into telling their Utah wedding story. Speaking with couples, learning what they want to remember most about their wedding, always reminds me of why I love photographing weddings. The love that they share for one another is my inspiration for telling the story of their wedding, as it should be.
Fashion Show
As always, the fashion show is my favorite part! The gowns were gorgeous, and the girls even more so. It’s fun to see the latest trends in bridal fashion, and how they change year-to-year. Some styles come and go, but others stay. Non-traditional and different designs, like a black lace wedding dress, are definitely a fun alternative and exciting to see modeled!
My Favorite Part
With the 32nd Cheyenne Bridal Expo complete, marking my 32nd year of attending bridal expos, I am reminded why I love weddings. Connecting with brides, their mothers, friends, and grooms is the highlight of my day. Each one at a different stage in the planning process. Some have weddings in a few months, others a few years. Even if they’ve booked a photographer already, I am happy to offer advice about wedding planning, because I know firsthand that it can be scary and overwhelming. I’m happy we were able to attend, despite the weather, and made it back safely. I’m looking forward to the Laramie Sweetheart Bridal Expo at the Hilton Garden Inn on February 4th in Laramie, Wyoming! A big thank you to LKH Bridal of Laramie, and all the vendors that made the event so special this year!
