“There are some who can live with out wild things and some who cannot.”
Burton Spiller
When I first met with Brooks and his mom Mindy I knew I had an avid fisherman. The first question Mindy asked was could I integrate their amazing boat in Brook’s senior session. She suggested that we could even photograph him in the boat in the drive way. I don’t think the Tyser family realized at that very minute how serious I am about beautiful, natural portraits. But in time they would. When meeting at my studio, we set up a date for me to go see their place and the boat. Their home was very outdoorsy, with beautiful open spaces and a family-owned and operated logging business right outside the door.
I loved the Tyser family from the beginning, one of the reasons I live in Laramie is my love of the outdoors. When we were planning the photos, I told Mindy it would be weird to photograph Brook’s in the boat in the drive way. The most important part of Tyser’s senior photos is to go where he LOVED to be in the boat, Curt Gowdy State Park. In order to get a great portrait of Brooks I knew I needed to have him be where he loved to be doing what he loved best.
