Laramie’s Favorite
Pilot Hill is one of my favorite places to take portraits. Its located right on the edge of town, but still seems like it’s in a remote part of the Rockies, so its easy to take clients for a fun outdoor shoot. Many Laramigos enjoy Pilot Hill for hiking, biking, and walking their dogs.
Generations
I’ve known the Jones family for years. I took Chrissy’s oldest sister, Caylee’s senior portraits, and took each of the four Jones girls dance recital portraits. Chrissy was a beautiful and extremely talented ballerina when she was younger. She grew up to be the most beautiful bride, and a capable, professional manager of a regional steakhouse. One thing I love about Chrissy and David is how genuine and happy they are. They have a positive, energetic, and fun-loving vibe about them. Their chemistry together is incredible. Chrissy and David are such a joy to photograph!
Rufus, Reyna and Rupert
Chrissy and David’s Reflections session started off with a trip to Pilot Hill in early spring. We picked a sunny, windy day (windy days aren’t all bad – I find they add motion to the photos, making them feel more natural). They brought their three big adorable dogs, Rufus, Reyna and Rupert. I’ve never seen so many slobbery tongues and tail wags! I photographed them at a few different locations that day and we reconnected a couple months later for two more outdoor sessions.
Downtown
When the weather was much warmer and the trees were green once again, I photographed Chrissy and David in Downtown Laramie. We went to places they had created fond memories at. We went to the iconic red door of the Melville Brown Gallery attached to the Riflemaker. Afterword, we went to the historic bandshell at Washington Park and then into the Tree Area where we got to enjoy lilacs in full bloom. They smelled heavenly! Lilacs are actually Chrissy’s favorite flower.
Chrissy and David had both been up late the previous night cooking at Rib and Chop – this super couple not only manage the restaurant but love to cook as well. I admire how hardworking they are. And yet, they still have time to have fun. Both worked very hard to afford their fairytale wedding at Wadley Farms in Lindon, UT, and foreign honeymoon in Europe. It was well-deserved.
