Laramie High School | Senior | Class of 2018
I would always admire the people in the wall portraits staring down at me, hoping someday I could be in their place. So, naturally with senior year right around the corner I was more than excited to take my senior pictures. The day we took my pictures was very windy which wasn’t surprising because we live in Wyoming. However, my mother handled it extremely well and even used the wind to our advantage, creating beautiful pictures that made me look natural.
Being a senior is a once in a life time thing. There are so many new beginnings, as well as endings that make it very bittersweet. I have had a lot of emotional moments throughout my senior year; both good and bad. But one of the most memorably good experiences I’ve had was being able to spend time with my mom while she took my senior pictures. I have been surrounded by photography my entire life. As a child my mother would bring me to her studio and I was always completely fascinated by everything around me.
Another perk of having my mom take my portraits was that she was there all the time, this came in handy when we were on vacation in Hawaii and she took some of the best pictures I have ever seen of myself. This also added some diversity to my senior photos. Overall working with my mom was a dream experience, she is my best friend and she knows me better than anybody else; so naturally she knew exactly what I would like and sure enough she delivered. I love my pictures and I will definitely cherish them forever.
