AN AUTHENTIC RANCH WEDDING
There’s nothing more authentically Wyoming than cowboy hats, bolo ties, turquoise cowboy boots and an intimate mountain wedding ceremony in Jackson. Emma and Nigel’s wedding was just that. Having gone from law school to wedding planner, Emma was determined to make her wedding special.
Emma planned and coordinated her own wedding, and Martha, her mom, lovingly used vintage napkins as well as her own candlestick holders. Martha and her long-time Jackson girlfriends, whom Emma has known since she was a baby, picked fresh wildflowers and sage for the ceremony location and reception venue at the Mill Iron Ranch. A four-generation family ranch famous for scenic canyon views, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing, and thick steaks, the Mill Iron did not disappoint. There was even a sweet little donkey who delivered drinks to the guests and wedding party.
Through Thick and Thin
Nigel is hardworking, polite, and devoted to Emma. Emma is a vivacious, energetic, animal-loving Jackson Hole girl. The couple knew each other from high school in Jackson, but it wasn’t until a camping trip with friends before Emma’s sophomore year at Denver University that their eyes opened to each other. Soon after, a relationship blossomed. With Emma moving from Denver to Laramie, studying abroad, moving to Nashville and then back to Jackson, Emma and Nigel were no strangers to long-distance love. After Covid hit, Emma moved back to Jackson Hole and the love and friendship strengthened between them. Soon after one fun night of dancing and camping, Nigel proposed the next morning outside of Bondurant near a fire watch tower with a spectacular view of the Wind River Mountains.
Their wedding ended with lots of dancing, drinking, glowsticks and a sparkler sendoff. Afterword, the couple went to Glacier National Park for a honeymoon and plan on heading someplace warm when the allure of powder skiing wears off. Recently, Emma surprised Nigel with an adorable puppy named Charles, a rescue from the reservation, like her horse Honeybee.
