Sunny Senior Pictures for Hannah
Spring has officially arrived in Wyoming and I can’t think of a more fun way to usher it in than photographing Hannah’s senior portraits. I absolutely adore Hannah. Gracious and polite, don’t let her fool you with her soft southern drawl. This girl knows how to roll up her sleeves and get things done. While most kids were laying around getting tan over spring break this North Carolina born beauty turned Wyomingite cherished the time she spent with her daddy cleaning the calving barn.
The River Bend Ranch is the closest thing to heaven you will ever find. One look and you completely understand why the Powers family moved to Laramie, Wyoming. Taking portraits in 60 degree weather of this gorgeous high school senior filled with happiness and anticipation for the upcoming school year made my heart sing. And that wasn’t the only singing going on. In the background you could hear bees humming, birds chirping, and the calling of cows to their soft, furry little baby calves.
Courtesy isn’t dead
I fell in love with her polite way of addressing me as ma’am’. A word that when uttered from her smiling face seemed so warm and friendly. Not stiff or old fashioned. This was a gracious, respectful courtesy that she gave to me. I found myself wishing I had brought up my children to bestow that term upon others. Jill and Dean have raised a smart, hard working, compassionate woman.
Hannah is the apple of her momma and daddy’s eye. And it didn’t take very long for her to worm her way into my heart as well. She is gentle and kind. And animals love her. If animals love you then you definitely are a great person in my book. When we sat down together to chat about what types of senior portraits Hannah loved and what her momma and daddy loved about her I knew that even though a trip to the ranch was an hour excursion that was definitely the place to photograph Hannah’s senior portraits.
Proud Wyomingite Representing in D.C.
This week Hannah will be representing the youth of Wyoming proudly as a delegate at the National FFA Convention in Washington D.C. I am truly blessed to photograph seniors like Hannah. Dedicated students with the vision, will, and determination to make the world a better place. There are literally thousands of photographers out there. But a much smaller number of dedicated senior portrait artists, and I’m truly fortunate to be one of them.
Senior photographs should be enjoyed as high quality photographs. Photographs you can place as emotional art in your home of the one you love. And that is truly the biggest blessing of all to me. Not everyone gets to say that. I am deeply humbled and grateful to the Powers family. I thank them for entrusting me and allowing me to create a photograph of Hannah that will bring tears to their eyes every time they walk by it on the wall. Even if it is for the 7th time that day. Because it truly captures what we love about Hannah.
