Hi, my name is Anne and I’m a fourth-generation portrait artist born and raised right here in Laramie Wyoming. For me wide-open spaces, incredible skies, amazing mountains, and living in a small town are essential—like breathing.
Running a successful fourth-generation, woman-owned photography business has blessed me with rich community relationships that span multiple generations. I truly believe in the Cowboy ethic. You’re only as good as your word and a handshake is good as gold.

my approach
Ludwig’s doesn’t rely on filters, gimmics, or Photoshop to capture what makes you unique and beautiful. Instead, I use my 35 years of experience to get it right the first time while the moment and the expressions are fresh. I like to tell people that photography is an art, like any other creative discipline, what makes an amazing portrait comes down to the photographer’s ability to identify what is good portraiture and how to best capture it. I held my first camera at age 4 and was processing and printing my own film by age 8. My 35 years of experience, where I started off using film, taught me to rely on my ability as a photographer to get it right in the moment, not try to recreate it later during post-processing.
Film taught me that life is beautiful and I find great joy telling your story and those you love through portrait photography. When you look back at your photographs someday, If I did my job right, you will effortlessly remember the way you felt at that time of your life—beautiful, on top of the world, surrounded by those you love, full of life. I want to compose a timeless visual story so that every time you walk by, you and those you love can relive that very moment.
My philosophy
In my heart, life is truly about the ones you love. Capturing the “magic” in your everyday life is what I am PASSIONATE about. I have traveled to many faraway places, to capture moments, too precious to lose to memory alone.
There’s nothing more special than professional photographs of you and someone you love. Files are great for sharing, but they are not going to last forever. Every time you open a .jpg, share it to social media, send it, download it, etc. the quality degrades. If a file is all you have, you are at risk of losing it permanently.
We’ve heard many horror stories of clients losing their photos because of corrupted files, crashed computers and jump drives that stopped working altogether. That’s why we provide REAL photographs processed in a darkroom that will last generations, and we offer a lifetime guarantee. Everything we do is archived in our collection at the American Heritage Center, so generations of future relatives of yours can find your photographs.
when i am away from the camera
It was at the University of Wyoming I fell in love with an adventure seeker like me from Oslo, Norway—my now adoring husband Even. It is then that my life story really began. Long before destination weddings were in vogue, we had an incredible storybook wedding in the king’s church Ris in Oslo. Together we have made Laramie our home now for over 23 years.
We have three beautiful children ages 12 to 21. Family history and a sense of place are as dear to our hearts as the Great Outdoors. My 125-year-old Victorian home is 6 blocks from my Art Deco studio built in 1925 in downtown Laramie.
In my free time you will find me after a day of skiing, baking a soufflé to be enjoyed with the perfect red wine or fixing a fence at our ranch in nearby Virginia Dale, Colorado. Our family travels to Norway frequently because, as my husband told me years ago, Norway is a lot like Wyoming—beautiful, rustic, full of adventure, and as genuine as it comes.
Photo Retouching Artist Demi Dusenberry
Demi is our in-house photo retouching artist and graphic designer. She is the one behind the scenes making sure your portraits reflect the best version of yourself.
Demi has a degree in Visual Arts from the Univeristy of Wyoming, and has been a Laramie resident for around 5 years. She was born and raised in Powell, Wyoming, just a short trip from Yellowstone National Park. Because of her proximity to the mountains and the park, Demi is an avid nature lover and enjoys wild places.
She is an artist alongside a graphic designer, and is passionate about painting and drawing. Her favorite medium is gouache painting, and she mainly paints animals, although sometimes dabbles in self-portraits.
When she is not retouching portraits, doing photo restoration, framing or designing, you may find her mountain biking in the hills around Laramie, or walking her dog, Maverick.
