What do you get when you have a beautiful girl, a gorgeous wedding dress, and the incredible Wyoming mountains? Rugged sophistication. A balanced blend of contradictions. The untamed ruggedness of the mountains and graceful elegance of a bride are two contrasting ideas that make my heart so full and happy.
That’s what Wyoming weddings are – the perfect blend of the wild and untamed, and elegance and sophistication. Both are beautiful alone in their proper places, but together these two ideas are magical.
The Mountains and the Dress
I wanted to capture the rugged and elegant beauty that defines Colorado, Wyoming, and the the Rocky Mountain West. I also have a family ranch on the Wyoming/Colorado border which I love taking my wedding couples to. It sits nestled in a valley across from Rocky Mountain National Park. The scenic views from the top of the ridge take your breath away. It is a paradise and looks like it came out of a fairy tale. I knew this would be the perfect place to capture what I was envisioning.
Our little corner of the world might not be the most populated, but having a studio and portrait gallery in downtown Laramie, Wyoming I am surrounded by amazing wedding specialists. The stunning gown came from LKH Bridal, the bouquet from The Wild Rose, and the ring from Alexanders Jewelry – all from right here in downtown Laramie! I really wanted to showcase local talent in a collaborative effort to create beauty. We all had a wonderful time coordinating each detail. In other words, it was a perfect day.
